NECW presents STRONGER THAN HURT

The legendary 10 pounds of leather and gold, the NWA World's Heavyweight Championship, comes to New England Championship Wrestling as part of a first-ever series of title bouts on Friday night, June 8th as NECW debuts at the Knight of Columbus, 582 Bedford St, Bridgewater, MA with an 8 PM bell time for STRONGER THAN HURT. Colt "Boom Boom" Cabana defeated 'Scrap Iron" Adam Pearce on Sunday, April 8 in Glendale, CA on an NWA Championship Wrestling from Hollywood TV taping to take the title for a second time from Pearce. The feud between these two runs long and deep, and rather than accept the usual madatory rematch, Pearce made an unusual challenge which can be seen on the latest edition of the NECW ONLINE UPDATE, for "Seven Levels of Hate," a best of seven series, each match with the title on the line to take place in NWA promotions throughout the country. Cabana, currently on tour in Japan with Pro Wrestling NOAH, accepted Pearce's challenge. Cabana stated that he also wants to bring a definitive end to their feud over wrestling's most prestigious prize. However, the new World Champion had a requirement of his own in accepting the challenge. "I know Adam better than anyone is the wrestling industry. He's hurt; he's desperate; he's against the wall. And because of that I know he will literally do ANYTHING to hurt me. And I'm game, the fans know I'm game, and I know his mind. If he really wants to do this, it's gotta be like this: Since each match is for the title, then each must have a SPECIAL STIPULATION. That way we're both on level ground and we both have the same advantages. That way Pearce can't sneak anything past anyone." Pearce, through his manager Stu Stone, immediately accepted this caveat without comment and the first series dates in this monumental NWA feud have been set! For the first time in this era of the National Wrestling Alliance, promotions from across the country are collaborating to present this series of matches. Stipulations for the first two matches have been announced. Stage One on May 13 in Glendale, CA will be a First Blood Match. The Stage Two bout, hosted by NECW, will be a Boston Street Fight.
